My Services

  • Anxiety is a very natural human experience, however it can begin to get out of control and often people feel trapped in its cycle and find it restricts their lives. I can work with you on relaxation and distraction techniques to help manage anxiety but also to question or reframe anxious thoughts and build your resilience.

  • At some time in our lives we must all experience loss and grief. This is so different for each of us but can be overwhelming and isolating for us all.

    I can sit alongside you and hold your pain. I will help you to understand that we have to feel what we feel but that all feelings subside like waves in the sea. Grief never really goes away but usually, the intensity diminishes and we can learn to live with it building a positive life to sustain us.

  • It is hard to live with low mood, especially when there is little or no circumstantial reason. However, very small changes can soon add up. Going for a short walk everyday can release endorphins, spending time with someone who cares, 5/10 minutes mindful meditation, engaging in a pleasurable activity for a few minutes can all make a difference. I can support and hear you, helping you to make those small steps to recovery.

  • So many of us find it easier to be kind to others than ourselves. Learning self compassion is huge in increasing quality of life. I can help you to discover and value your strengths and accept inevitable mistakes so that you can build a more supportive relationship with yourself.

  • Today’s world can be a stressful place to grow up in. I have worked all of my life with young people and children and enjoy supporting them to make choices to live more fulfilling lives. I came from a teaching background and have always enjoyed the company of children and teens.

    I work with youngsters mainly in schools which can provide us with a safe, confidential space but if this is inappropriate I can see teens in my office.

  • I offer supervision to therapists online or in person.

    I am an integrative/pluralistic therapist so can adapt to most theoretical approaches. I am a specialist in children and young people’s therapy and work for two children’s charities; one as a therapist, another as a supervisor. I am also an anxiety and grief specialist.

    I offer a safe, warm, non-judgmental space for you to explore your work and to grow professionally.

I'm Hilary, a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor passionate about guiding individuals through their unique journeys toward healing and empowerment.

I’m an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society).

I work in schools, from my office and online.

My approach is integrative which means I draw from a variety of theories to tailor therapy for you—your story, your needs, your growth. I aim to empower you to overcome difficulties and discover your path to resilience and well-being. I believe in the strength of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for change and growth.

My Therapy space is located between Ferndown & West Parley, close to Bournemouth Airport, easy to get to from : Wimborne, Poole, Ringwood, Bournemouth.

Fees

£65

50 minute session

( It may be possible to have a concession ie students/ low income)

My sessions are on a pay as you go basis.

This means you are always in complete control of how much therapy you do and provided you pay at least 48 hours in advance of your next session I will keep your slot available for you.
